CheckFile
Did every source file make it into the video?
You sent the editor a folder of photos and clips. CheckFile compares that folder with the finished video and tells you which files were used, at what time, and which were left out — no scrubbing through the timeline.
- Images and video clips
- Timestamps for every match
- Excel and PDF reports
How it works
Two drops and one click. Your files stay on your computer.
-
Drag in the folder you gave the editor and the video they delivered, or pick them with Browse. Subfolders are included.
- Images: JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, GIF
- Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WMV, FLV, M4V, TS
-
Press Check. Every file is marked Used or Unused, with a confidence score and the times it appears in the video. Images that do not match directly get a deeper search for crops and resized shots.
- Source clips are checked by picture and by sound
- A strictness slider for close calls
-
Open any result to see the source next to the matching frame. Export an Excel or PDF report for your client or editor, and save the project to reopen later.
- Excel, PDF and plain-text reports
- Thumbnails of every file in the report
What it checks
Built for the hand-off between whoever owns the footage and whoever edits it.
Matching
- Images
- Found even when the editor cropped, resized or brightened them, and in screenshots with the video player's borders and bars around the picture.
- Video clips
- Matched by frames from across the clip and by their audio.
- Where it appears
- Every time a file shows up in the final video, down to the second.
Reporting
- Excel and PDF reports
- Used and unused files with thumbnails, confidence and timestamps, ready to send.
- Side-by-side preview
- The source file next to the frame it matched, so you can confirm at a glance.
- Projects
- Save a check and reopen it later without running it again.
For whoever has to sign off the video
When there are dozens or hundreds of source files, checking the timeline by hand takes hours.
- Brands & marketing teamsMake sure every product shot and logo you supplied is in the agency’s cut.
- Agencies & producersCheck a freelancer’s edit against the asset list before it goes to the client.
- Event & wedding studiosConfirm the photos the client picked made it into the highlight video.
- EditorsProve what you used, with timestamps, when the client asks.
